VKernel Gets $7m B Round

The new money is earmarked for sales, marketing and product development

VKernel, whose virtual appliances manage VMware-based virtual server environments, has gotten a $7 million B round led by Longworth Venture Partners and joined by existing investors Hummer Winblad and Polaris Venture Partners. It got a first round worth $4.6 million a year ago. Its widgetry identifies bottlenecks on hosts, clusters and resource pools. It's planning to support Hyper-V and Xen. The new money is earmarked for sales, marketing and product development.
